Guiding Clients Through the Bankruptcy Process

Our law firm handles both consumer and business bankruptcies, assisting individuals and businesses in the community from the initial petition to the final order. Our law firm is dedicated to guiding clients through bankruptcy, providing answers to their questions and information about their options. There are many steps to completing a bankruptcy, and our experienced lawyers work with clients to ensure a smooth and trouble-free conclusion to the process and a fresh financial start.

Using the Bankruptcy Code to Help Clients

In 2005, the Bankruptcy Code changed significantly, requiring individuals to meet certain income requirements before becoming eligible to file a Chapter 7, or “straight”, bankruptcy. In addition, consumers filing either Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy must now complete debt counseling. These and other changes were implemented primarily at the request of the banking lobby and had the effect of making the bankruptcy process more complex. However, our attorneys continue to use the debt relief laws of the United States to benefit clients who find themselves overwhelmed by debt.
